Let’s go back 75 years to where this unexpected journey began. It all started at Earlestown Market in Lancashire, where my grandfather, Frank, and his daughter, my mum Val, found themselves in friendly but fierce competition with my father, Graham, selling fabrics.
Before long, they put their rivalry aside and joined forces, not only in business but also through marriage. From that point onwards, my grandparents and parents worked together to build a successful family business, opening a number of outlets across the North West, including Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Bolton and, eventually, Blackpool.
As the family grew, so did their reputation for supplying high-quality dress and curtain fabrics to customers across the region. Over the years, the business also expanded into furnishing hotels, pubs and restaurants, building a trusted name through a shared passion for textiles and personal service.
Throughout our journey, family and friends have often come together to enjoy our love of al fresco living. It was during one of these outdoor gatherings that my youngest daughter suddenly exclaimed, “Mum, I’m cold!” Within moments, a family member had produced several blankets for everyone to share.
That simple moment sparked an idea. I felt it was time to once again share our family’s passion for beautiful fabrics, this time through a carefully chosen collection of blankets and throws.
